Pulse September 18

Week of September 18, 2023

Sermon: If you were in my Sunday School class yesterday, you heard me reference James Montgomery Boice’s take on the parables of the mustard seed and the leaven. After searching high and low I finally found the sermon behind the book I’ve been reading by Dr. Boice so you get to enjoy the late, great Presbyterian pastor as he preaches through “The Work of the Enemy”. As a bonus, I ran across a most fascinating article this week entitled “We are Repaganizing.” Worth the time it takes to read and ponder, and I think it’ll help you think more clearly about the day in which we live.

Catechism: With what attitude should we pray?

Song: The story goes that The Times asked well-known authors to submit their responses to the question "What's wrong with the world?" G.K. Chesterton showed his wit and understanding, in part, of the doctrine of man when he replied,

Dear sir,

I am.

Yours, G.K. Chesterton

This song captures that sentiment. I promise I'll stop doing Downhere songs now...
