Sermon: Perhaps more than anyone in the modern era, John Piper has explored the place of joy in the believers’ life. Years ago, in his book Desiring God, he helped me understand that it’s possible and acceptable and right to obey God not just from a sense of duty, but because obeying God led to great joy, and I should want to pursue my own joy. I think this sermon of his, that I revisited last week as I pondered joy, nicely encapsulates the heart of his writing and preaching.

Song from Clark: Here are some songs of joy inspired by Psalm 16.
You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Psalm 16:11
