Sermon: I love history, especially church history. History not only informs about the past, it enlightens the present and illuminates the future. With that in mind, here’s a most illuminating session on the American church of a century ago, and the parallels to the church today are almost eerie. It’s one part of a twelve-part series. Catechism: What sort of Redeemer is needed to bring us back to God?

Song: Thinking about the church makes me think of the Reformation anthem, “A Mighty Fortress is Our God.” Here’s a metal version of Luther’s great hymn. I love it for the same reasons and to the exact degree that Jason Wahlstrom hates it.
