Sermon: Last week I caught this session by John Piper working through an introduction to what theologians call “the Doctrines of Grace.” Twenty-five years ago, in the basement classroom of a little library in eastern Wisconsin, wrestling through Ephesians 1 in a Greek class, I began to be convinced of the truth of these doctrines before I even knew they had a name. For an odd factoid, Piper mentions a conference he hosted in 1990 in which John MacArthur spoke. I believe I was present at that conference at the ripe old age of eleven.
Catechism: What is the Lord’s Prayer?
A Word from Clark: The 119th Psalm is the longest chapter in the entire bible and organized as an acrostic by each of the 22 Hebrew letters. StillCreek is a musical group which has recently begun undertaking a project to put it to new musical arrangements. They’re certainly not the first. Our prolific creator friends Poor Bishop Hooper have an album covering all 176 verses here.
Also, I want to share an invitation to prospective worship team members for next Sunday after Sunday School. We’ll share a meal and play a song or two together. Contact me (or Joe, or other worship team members) 701-739-7787 if anyone is interested in joining.
