Sermon: Don Carson, “Evangelicalism and the Evangel.”

Catechism: How and why did God create us?

Song: Yesterday at annual meeting I (Clark) shared about an opportunity to learn how to sing parts to many well-known hymns. And you don’t even have to come to choir practice! You could experiment with the parts played for you using the “Sing your Part” app. It is available in the App Store for $5. Here’s a sample of what it can do.

Let’s use Doxology for an example.

For the soprano or melody part watch the video at the beginning. For the “alto” part go to 0:45. For the “tenor” line go to 1:23, and for the “bass” part go to 2:00.

After you practice your chosen part a few times put it with the other voices for the full arrangement from 2:35 to the end.

And there you have it, learning four part harmonies from the comfort of your own car, couch, desk, etc. in less than five minutes a day! But wait! There’s more! This same resource is available for nearly every hymn you can imagine! Stay tuned for more and happy part-singing!
